And when all this was completed, all Israel, those who were present went out to the cities of Judah, and broke down the standing pillars, and cut down the Asherah poles, and pulled down the high places and the altars from all Judah and Benjamin, even in Ephraim and Manasseh, until they had completed it; then all the children of Israel returned, each man to his possession, to their cities.
And Hezekiah appointed the divisions of the priests and the Levites according to their divisions, each man according to the mouth of his service, for the priests and for the Levites, for the burnt offering and for peace offerings, to serve, to give thanks and to praise in the gates of the camps of Yahweh.
And the king's portion from his property was for the burnt offerings: for the burnt offerings of the morning and the evening, and the burnt offerings for the sabbaths and the new moons and the appointed times, as it is written in the instruction of Yahweh.
And he said to the people, to those who dwell in Jerusalem, to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, so that they might be strong in the instruction of Yahweh.
And as the word spread, the children of Israel made plentiful the first of the grain, new wine, fresh oil, honey, and all the produce of the field; and the tenth of everything they brought in abundance.
And the children of Israel and Judah, those who dwell in the cities of Judah, they also brought the tenth of cattle and flock, and the tenth of the holy things set apart for Yahweh their God, and set them in pile after pile.
In the third month they began to lay the foundation of the piles, and in the seventh month they completed.
And Hezekiah and the officials came and saw the piles, and they blessed Yahweh and his people Israel.
And Hezekiah inquired over the priests and the Levites over the piles.
And Azariah the priest, the head to the house of Zadok, said to him, From the begin of the contribution to bring the house of Yahweh, they ate and were satisfied, and remained to the multitude; for Yahweh blessed his people, and the hordes remain.
And Hezekiah said to prepare halls in the house of Yahweh, and they prepared them.
And they brought in the contribution, the tenth, and the holy things faithfully; and over them was Konaniah the Levite as ruler, and Shimei his brother was second.
And Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismachiah, Mahath, and Benaiah were overseers under the hand of Konaniah and Shimei his brother, by the appointment of Hezekiah the king and Azariah the ruler of the house of God.
And Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, the gatekeeper at the east side, was over the freewill offerings of God, to give the contribution of Yahweh, and the most holy things.
And under his hand were Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, faithfully giving to their brothers by divisions, to the great as to the small.
Besides those who enrolled themselves by genealogy, to the males from three years old and upward, to everyone who went into the house of Yahweh, according to the word of each day on its day, for their service, in their duties, according to their divisions.
And the priests were enrolled by genealogy according to the house of their fathers, and the Levites from twenty years old and upward, in their duties and by their divisions.
And to genealogy in all their family, their wives and their sons and their daughters, to all the company; for in their steadiness they will set apart holiness.
And for the children of Aaron the priests, in the fields of the open land of their cities, in every city, city after city, there were men who were designated by name to give portions to every male among the priests and to everyone enrolled by genealogy among the Levites.
And Hezekiah did like this in all Judah, and he did what was good and right and faithful before the face of Yahweh his God.
And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the instruction and in the commandment, to seek his God, with all his heart he did it, and he succeeded.
