2 Chronicles27

1Jotham was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem; and the name of his mother was Jerusha, daughter of Zadok.

2He did what was right in the eyes of Yahweh, according to all that Uzziah his father had done; only he did not go into the temple of Yahweh. And still the people were behaving corruptly.

3He built the upper gate of the house of Yahweh, and on the wall of Ophel he built much.

4And he built cities in the mountain of Judah, and in the wooded areas he built fortresses and towers.

5And he waged war with the king of the sons of Ammon, and he prevailed over them; and the sons of Ammon gave him in that year a hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand cors of wheat and ten thousand of barley. This the sons of Ammon gave back to him in the second year and the third.

6So Jotham strengthened himself, for he established his ways before the face of Yahweh his God.

7And the rest of the words of Jotham, and all his wars and his ways, behold, they are written in the record of the kings of Israel and Judah.

8He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem.

9And Jotham lay down with his fathers, and they interred him in the city of David; and his son Ahaz reigned in his place.
