2 Chronicles19

1Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in wholeness, to Jerusalem.

2Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to face him, and said to King Jehoshaphat: Is it the wicked you help, and those who hate Yahweh you love? For this, wrath is on you from the face of Yahweh.

3Yet good words are found with you, for you have burned the Asherah poles out of the land and have fixed your heart to seek God.

4Jehoshaphat dwelled in Jerusalem, and again he went out among the people from Beer-sheba to the hill country of Ephraim, and brought them back to Yahweh the God of their fathers.

5He set judges in the land, in all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city.

6He said to the judges: See what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for Yahweh, who is with you in the word of justice.

7And now, let the dread of Yahweh be on you. Keep watch and act, for with Yahweh our God there is no injustice, nor lifting of faces, nor taking of a bribe.

8Also in Jerusalem Jehoshaphat set some of the Levites and the priests, and some of the heads of the fathers of Israel, for the justice of Yahweh and for disputes; and they returned to Jerusalem.

9He commanded them, saying: Thus you are to act in the fear of Yahweh, in steadiness, and with a complete heart.

10And every dispute that comes to you from your brothers who dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between instruction and commandment, statutes and justices, you shall warn them, so that they do not become guilty before Yahweh and wrath will be on you and upon your brothers. Thus you shall act, and you will not become guilty.

11And behold, Amariah the priest is head over you in all the word of Yahweh, and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael is ruler of the house of Judah in all the word of the king; and the Levites are officers before your face. Be strong and act, and may Yahweh be with the good.
