Paul and Silvanus and Timothy, to the assembly of the Thessalonians in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus the Anointed One: favor to you and wholeness from God our Father and the Lord Jesus the Anointed One.
We give thanks to God always concerning you all, making mention of you in our prayers, unceasingly,
remembering your work of trust and labor of love and endurance of hope in our Lord Jesus the Anointed One before our God and Father;
knowing, brothers beloved by God, your election;
because our good news did not come to you in word only but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with much full assurance, even as you know what we were among you on your account;
and you yourselves became our imitators and of the Lord, having received the word in much tribulation with the joy of the Holy Spirit,
so that you became an example to all the trusting ones in Macedonia and in Achaia.
For from you has sounded forth the word of the Lord, not only in Macedonia and in Achaia, but also in every place your trust toward God has gone abroad, so that we have no need to say anything.
For they themselves report concerning us what reception we had from you, and how you turned to God from the idols to serve the living and true God,
and to await his Son from the heavens, whom He raised out from the dead, Jesus, who is delivering us from the wrath which is coming.
