King Solomon was king over all Israel.
And these were the officials who belonged to him: Azariah son of Zadok the priest;
Elihoreph and Ahijah, sons of Shisha, were scribes; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was the recorder;
and Benaiah son of Jehoiada was over the army; and Zadok and Abiathar were priests;
and Azariah son of Nathan was over those stationed; and Zabud son of Nathan, a priest, was the friend of the king;
and Ahishar was over the house; and Adoniram son of Abda was over the forced labor.
And Solomon had twelve stationed over all Israel, and they provided for the king and his household; a month in the year would fall on each one to provide.
And these are their names: Ben-hur in the hill country of Ephraim;
Ben-deker in Makaz, in Shaalbim, in Beth-shemesh, and Elon-beth-hanan;
Ben-hesed in Arubboth; to him belonged Socoh and all the land of Hepher;
Ben-abinadab had all the height of Dor; Taphath daughter of Solomon became his wife;
Baana son of Ahilud had Taanach and Megiddo and all of Beth-shean, which is beside Zarethan, below Jezreel, from Beth-shean as far as Abel-meholah, as far as the other side of Jokmeam;
Ben-geber in Ramoth-gilead; to him belonged the villages of Jair son of Manasseh that are in Gilead; to him belonged the region of Argob that is in Bashan, sixty great cities with a wall and bronze bars.
Ahinadab son of Iddo in Mahanaim;
Ahimaaz in Naphtali; he also took Basemath daughter of Solomon as a wife;
Baana son of Hushai in Asher and Bealoth;
Jehoshaphat son of Paruah in Issachar;
Shimei son of Ela in Benjamin;
Geber son of Uri in the land of Gilead, the land of Sihon king of the Amorites and of Og king of Bashan; and there was one prefect who was in the land.
Judah and Israel were numerous, like the sand that is by the sea in multitude; they ate and drank and were joyful.
And Solomon was ruling over all the kingdoms from the River to the land of the Philistines and as far as the border of Egypt; they brought tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.
And the food of Solomon for one day was thirty cors of fine flour and sixty cors of meal.
ten fattened cattle, twenty pasture cattle, and a hundred sheep and goats, apart from deer and gazelle and roebuck and fattened fowl.
For he was ruling over all the region across the River, from Tiphsah to Gaza, over all the kings of the region across the River; and wholeness belonged to him on all his sides, all around.
And Judah and Israel dwelled in security, each man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan to Beer-sheba, all the days of Solomon.
And Solomon had forty thousand mangers of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
And these stationed ones provided for King Solomon and for everyone who came near to the table of King Solomon; each in his month; they let no word be lacking.
And the barley and the straw for the horses and for the steeds they brought to the place where it would be, there, each one as was prescribed for him.
And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding, multiplied exceedingly, and breadth of heart, like the sand that is on the edge of the sea.
And the wisdom of Solomon was greater than the wisdom of all the sons of the east, and than all the wisdom of Egypt.
And he was wiser than any man, than Ethan the Ezrachite and Heman and Kalkol and Darda, the children of Mahol; and his name was among all the nations round about.
And he spoke three thousand proverbs, and his song was a thousand and five.
And he spoke about the trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon to the hyssop that comes out of the wall; and he spoke about the livestock, and about the birds, and about the creeping things, and about the fish.
And they came from all the peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon; from all the kings of the land who had heard of his wisdom.
