The queen of Sheba heard the report of Solomon, in connection with the name of Yahweh, and came to test him with riddles.
And she came to Jerusalem in an army severe exceedingly, camels carrying spices and gold great exceedingly and rare stone; and she came to Solomon and spoke to him all which was with her heart.
Solomon told her all her words; no word was hidden from the king that he did not tell her.
The queen of Sheba saw all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,
and the food of his table, the seating of his servants, the standing of his attendants and their clothing, his cupbearers, and his burnt offering that he offered up in the house of Yahweh; and there was no more breath in her.
She said to the king, "Reliable was the word that I heard in my land about your words and about your wisdom."
I did not believe the words until I came and my eyes saw it; and look, not even half was told to me. You have added wisdom and goodness beyond the report that I heard.
Happy are your men, happy are your servants, these who stand before you continually and hear your wisdom.
May Yahweh your God be blessed, who took delight in you and set you on the throne of Israel. Because Yahweh loves Israel forever, he has appointed you king, to do justice and righteousness.
She gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, spices in very great quantity, and precious stone. Such spice never came again in the abundance that the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.
Also the fleet of Hiram, which carried gold from Ophir, brought from Ophir almug wood in very great quantity, and precious stone.
The king made supports of the almug wood for the house of Yahweh and for the house of the king, and lyres and harps for the singers. Such almug wood has not come, and has not been seen, to this day.
King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, besides what he gave her as befitted the hand of King Solomon. Then she turned and went to her own land, she and her servants.
The weight of the gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred sixty-six talents of gold,
apart from what came from the men who scout for trade, from the merchandise of the traders, from all the kings of Arabia, and from the governors of the land.
King Solomon made two hundred large shields of beaten gold; he put up six hundred of gold on each shield.
and three hundred small shields of beaten gold; he put up three minas of gold on each shield. And the king put them in the House of the Forest of Lebanon.
The king made a great throne of ivory and overlaid it with refined gold.
The throne had six steps; the top of the throne was round at the back; there were hands on this side and on that side at the place of sitting, and two lions stood beside the hands.
Twelve lions stood there on the six steps, on this side and on that side; it had not been made so for any kingdom.
All the drinking vessels of King Solomon were gold, and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were fine gold; there was no silver; it was not reckoned as anything in the days of Solomon.
For the king had a fleet of Tarshish at sea with the fleet of Hiram; once every three years the fleet of Tarshish would come, carrying gold and silver, ivories, monkeys, and peacocks.
King Solomon became great, beyond all the kings of the land, in wealth and in wisdom.
All the land was seeking the face of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
They kept bringing, each man his gift: articles of silver, articles of gold, cloaks, weapons, spices, horses, and mules—each year's word, year by year.
Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen; he had a thousand and four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen, and he led them in the chariot cities and with the king in Jerusalem.
The king made silver in Jerusalem like stones, and he made cedars like the sycamores that are in the Shephelah, in abundance.
The export of the horses that Solomon had was from Egypt, and from Que; the king's traders took them from Que for a price.
A chariot would go up and come out of Egypt for six hundred of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty; and so for all the kings of the Hittites and for the kings of Aram, they brought them out through their hand.
