That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have gazed upon and our hands handled, concerning the word of life —
and the life was made manifest, and we have seen and bear witness and proclaim to you the eternal life which was with the Father and was revealed to us —
that which we have seen and have heard we proclaim also to you, so that you yourselves also may have fellowship with us; indeed our own fellowship now is with the Father and with his Son Jesus the Anointed One.
And these things we ourselves write, so that our joy may be completed.
And this is the message that we have heard from Him and we preach to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness none.
If we shall say that we have fellowship with Him and yet may walk in the darkness, we lie and we do not practice the truth;
now if we shall walk in the light as He himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus the Anointed One his Son cleanses us from all sin.
If we shall say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
If we shall confess our sins, He is faithful and just, that He may forgive us our sins and may cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we shall say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and his word is not in us.
