Corinthians12

Now concerning the spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant.

You know that when you were pagans, you were led to the mute idols, even as you were being carried away.

Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking in the Spirit of God says: Jesus is accursed, and no one is able to say: Jesus is Lord, except only in the Holy Spirit.

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit;

and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord;

and there are varieties of workings, but God is the same, who is working all things in everyone.

Now to each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common profiting.

For to one indeed, through the Spirit, is given a word of wisdom, however to another a word of knowledge according to the same Spirit,

now to a different one trust by the same Spirit, now to another gifts of healing in that one Spirit,

now to another working of miracles, now to another prophecy, now to another distinguishing of spirits, now to a different one various kinds of tongues, now to another interpretation of tongues;

now all these things the one and the same Spirit works, apportioning individually to each, even as He wills.

For just as the body is one and has many members, now all the members of the one body, being many, are one body, so also is the Anointed One.

For also in one Spirit we ourselves all were immersed into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and all were made to drink into one Spirit.

For also the body is not one member but many.

If the foot shall say: because I am not a hand, I am not of the body, is it not of the body on account of this?

And if the ear shall say: because I am not an eye, I am not of the body, is it not of the body on account of this?

If all the body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If all were hearing, where would be the sense of smell?

However now God has arranged the members, each one of them in the body, even as He desired.

Now if the all were one member, where would be the body?

However now the members indeed are many, however there is one body.

Now the eye is not able to say to the hand: I have not need of you; or again the head to the feet: I have not need of you;

but much rather those members of the body seeming to be weaker are indispensable,

and those of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow more excessive honor, and our unpresentable parts have more excessive decorum;

and our presentable parts have no need. But God, who has composed the body, having given more excessive honor to that which is become lacking,

so that there may not be division in the body, but the members may have the same concern for one another;

and if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

Now you yourselves are the body of the Anointed One, and members in particular.

And God has appointed some indeed in the assembly, first sent ones, secondly prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, various kinds of tongues.

Surely not all are sent ones? Surely not all are prophets? Surely not all are teachers? Surely not all do miracles?

Surely not all have gifts of healings? Surely not all do speak in tongues? Surely not all do interpret?

However, be desirous of the greater gifts. And now I show to you a more surpassing way.
