³And the children of Amram: Aaron, Moses, and Miriam. And the children of Aaron: Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

⁴Eleazar fathered Phinehas, and Phinehas fathered Abishua.

⁵And Abishua fathered Bukki, and Bukki fathered Uzzi.

⁶And Uzzi fathered Zerahiah, and Zerahiah fathered Meraioth.

⁷Meraioth fathered Amariah, and Amariah fathered Ahitub.

⁸and Ahitub fathered Zadok; and Zadok fathered Ahimaaz;

⁹and Ahimaaz fathered Azariah; and Azariah fathered Johanan;

¹⁰and Johanan fathered Azariah — he it was who served as priest in the house that Solomon built in Jerusalem.

¹¹And Azariah fathered Amariah, and Amariah fathered Ahitub;

¹²and Ahitub fathered Zadok; and Zadok fathered Shallum;

¹³and Shallum fathered Hilkiah; and Hilkiah fathered Azariah;

¹⁴and Azariah fathered Seraiah; and Seraiah fathered Jehozadak;

¹⁵and Jehozadak went off when Yahweh carried Judah and Jerusalem away into exile by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

¹⁷And these are the names of the children of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.

¹⁸And the children of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

¹⁹The children of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. And these are the families of the Levites, by their fathers.

²⁰To Gershom: Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son.

²¹Joah his son, Iddo his son, Zerah his son, Jeatherai his son.

²²The children of Kohath: Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,

²³Elkanah his son, and Ebiasaph his son, and Assir his son.

²⁴Tahath his son, Uriel his son, Uzziah his son, and Saul his son.

²⁵And the children of Elkanah: Amasai and Ahimoth.

²⁶Elkanah: the children of Elkanah, Zophai his son, and Nahath his son,

²⁷Eliab his son, Jeroham his son, Elkanah his son, and Samuel his son.

²⁸And the children of Samuel: the firstborn Joel, and the second Abijah.

²⁹The children of Merari: Mahli, Libni his son, Shimei his son, Uzzah his son,

³⁰Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, Asaiah his son.

³¹And these are those whom David set in charge of the song in the house of Yahweh, from the time the ark came to rest.

³²And they were serving before the dwelling of the tent of meeting with song, until Solomon built the house of Yahweh in Jerusalem; and they stood as prescribed for them over their service.

³³And these are those who stood, and their children: from the children of the Kohathite, Heman the singer, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel,

³⁵The son of Zuph, the son of Elkanah, the son of Mahath, the son of Amasai.

³⁶the son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of Azariah, the son of Zephaniah,

³⁷The son of Tahath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah.

³⁸the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel.

³⁹And his brother Asaph, who stood at his right hand: Asaph, son of Berekiah, son of Shimea,

⁴⁰the son of Michael the son of Baaseiah the son of Malkijah,

⁴¹the son of Ethni the son of Zerah the son of Adaiah,

⁴²the son of Ethan the son of Zimmah the son of Shimei,

⁴³The son of Jahath, the son of Gershom, the son of Levi.

⁴⁴And the children of Merari, their brothers, stood on the left: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch.

⁴⁵son of Hashabiah, son of Amaziah, son of Hilkiah,

⁴⁶son of Amzi, son of Bani, son of Shemer,

⁴⁷the son of Mahli the son of Mushi the son of Merari the son of Levi.

⁴⁸And their brothers the Levites were set to all the service of the dwelling place of the house of God.

⁴⁹And Aaron and his sons turned to smoke on the altar of the burnt offering and on the altar of the incense, for all the work of the holy of holies, and to cover for Israel, according to all that Moses the slave of God commanded.

⁵⁰And these are the children of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son.

⁵¹Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son.

⁵²Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son.

⁵³Zadok his son, Ahimaaz his son.

⁵⁴And these were their dwelling places, by their encampments within their borders: to the children of Aaron, of the clan of the Kohathites, for the lot was theirs.

⁵⁵And they gave them Hebron in the land of Judah, with its pasture lands all around it.

⁵⁶But the field of the city and its hamlets they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

⁵⁷And to the children of Aaron they gave the cities of refuge: Hebron, and Libnah with its pasture lands, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa with its pasture lands,

⁵⁸and Hilez and her pasture, Debir and her pasture,

⁵⁹and Ashan with its pasture lands, and Juttah with its pasture lands, and Beth-shemesh with its pasture lands.

⁶⁰And from the tribe of Benjamin: Gibeon and its pasturelands, Geba and its pasturelands, Alemeth and its pasturelands, and Anathoth and its pasturelands. All their cities were thirteen cities, by their clans.

⁶¹And to the children of Kohath who remained, from the clan of the tribe, from the half of the tribe of the half of Manasseh, by lot, ten cities.

⁶²And to the children of Gershom by their clans: from the tribe of Issachar, and from the tribe of Asher, and from the tribe of Naphtali, and from the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.

⁶³To the children of Merari by their clans: from the tribe of Reuben, and from the tribe of Gad, and from the tribe of Zebulun, by lot, twelve cities.

⁶⁴And the children of Israel gave the Levites the cities with their pasture lands.

⁶⁵And they gave by lot, from the tribe of the children of Judah, and from the tribe of the children of Simeon, and from the tribe of the children of Benjamin, these cities that they called by name.

⁶⁶And from the clans of the children of Kohath, there were the cities of their territory from the tribe of Ephraim.

⁶⁷And they gave them the cities of refuge: Shechem with its pasture lands in the hill country of Ephraim, and Gezer with its pasture lands,

⁶⁸and Jokmeam with its pasture lands, and Beth-horon with its pasture lands,

⁶⁹and Aijalon with its pasture lands, and Gath-rimmon with its pasture lands.

⁷⁰And from the half of the tribe of Manasseh: Aner with its pasture lands, and Bileam with its pasture lands, for the clan of the children of Kohath who remained.

⁷¹To the children of Gershom, from the clan of the half of the tribe of Manasseh: Golan in Bashan with its pasture lands, and Ashtaroth with its pasture lands;

⁷²and from the tribe of Issachar: Kedesh and her pasture, Daberath and her pasture,

⁷³and Ramoth and her pasture, and Anem and her pasture;

⁷⁴and from the tribe of Asher: Mashal and her pasture, and Abdon and her pasture,

⁷⁵and Hukok and her pasture, and Rehob and her pasture;

⁷⁶and from the tribe of Naphtali: Kedesh in Galilee and her pasture, and Hammon and her pasture, and Kiriathaim and her pasture.

⁷⁷To the children of Merari, those who remained: from the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam and her pasture, Kartah and her pasture, Rimmono and her pasture, Tabor and her pasture;

⁷⁸And from the far side of the Jordan at Jericho, on the sunrise side of the Jordan, from the tribe of Reuben: Bezer in the wilderness with its pasture lands, and Jahaz with its pasture lands,

⁷⁹and Kedemoth and her pasture, and Mephaath and her pasture;

⁸⁰and from the tribe of Gad: Ramoth in Gilead with its pasture lands, and Mahanaim with its pasture lands,

⁸¹and Heshbon and her pasture, and Jazer and her pasture.
