¹For the divisions of the gatekeepers: of the Korahites, Meshelemiah son of Kore, from the sons of Asaph.

²And Meshelemiah had sons: Zechariah the firstborn, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth,

³Elam the fifth, Jehohanan the sixth, Eliehoenai the seventh.

⁴And Obed-edom had children: Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, and Sakar the fourth, and Nethanel the fifth,

⁵Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peullethai the eighth; for God had blessed him.

⁶And to Shemaiah his son were born sons, the rulers of the house of their father, for they were mighty men of strength.

⁷The children of Shemaiah: Othni, and Rephael, and Obed, and Elzabad, whose brothers, children of strength, were Elihu and Semakiah.

⁸All these were of the children of Obed-edom, they and their children and their brothers, men of strength, with power for the service: sixty-two belonged to Obed-edom.

⁹And Meshelemiah had children and brothers, children of strength, eighteen.

¹⁰And Hosah, of the children of Merari, had children: Shimri the head (for though he was not the firstborn, his father set him as head),

¹¹Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth; all the children and brothers of Hosah were thirteen.

¹²To these, the divisions of the gatekeepers, to the heads of the men, belonged duties alongside their brothers, to serve in the house of Yahweh.

¹³And they cast lots, the small as well as the great, by the house of their fathers, for gate after gate.

¹⁴And the lot fell toward the sunrise side to Shelemiah; and for Zechariah his son, a counselor with insight, they cast lots, and his lot came out toward the north.

¹⁵To Obed-edom, toward the south; and to his sons, the house of the stores.

¹⁶To Shuppim and Hosah, toward the sunset side, beside the gate of Shalleketh, on the highway that goes up: guard alongside guard.

¹⁷Toward the sunrise side, the Levites: six; toward the north, four each day; toward the south, four each day; and for the stores, two and two.

¹⁸At the Parbar, toward the sunset side: four for the highway, two for the Parbar.

¹⁹These were the divisions of the gatekeepers, belonging to the children of the Korahite and to the children of Merari.

²⁰As for the Levites, Ahijah was over the treasuries of the house of God and over the treasuries of the holy things.

²¹The children of Ladan, children of the Gershonite through Ladan, the heads of the fathers of Ladan the Gershonite: Jehieli.

²²The children of Jehieli: Zetham, and Joel his brother, over the treasuries of the house of Yahweh.

²³Of the Amramites, of the Izharites, of the Hebronites, of the Uzzielites.

²⁴And Shebuel, the son of Gershom, the son of Moses, was ruler over the treasuries.

²⁵And his brothers by Eliezer: Rehabiah his son, and Jeshaiah his son, and Joram his son, and Zikri his son, and Shelomith his son.

²⁶This Shelomoth and his brothers were over all the storehouses of the sacred things that David the king, the heads of the fathers, the commanders of the thousands and the hundreds, and the commanders of the army had set apart.

²⁷From the wars and from the plunder they set apart gifts to repair the house of Yahweh.

²⁸And all that Samuel the seer had set apart, and Saul the son of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah; all that any set apart was over the hand of Shelomith and his brothers.

²⁹Of the Izharites: Kenaniah and his sons were for the outside work over Israel, as officials and judges.

³⁰Of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brothers, men of ability, one thousand seven hundred, had the oversight of Israel on the far side of the Jordan, toward the sunset, for all the work of Yahweh and for the service of the king.

³¹Of the Hebronites, Jeriah was the head of the Hebronites, according to his generations, by fathers; in the fortieth year of David's reign they were sought out, and there were found among them mighty men of valor at Jazer of Gilead.

³²And his brothers, children of strength, two thousand seven hundred, heads of the fathers; and David the king appointed them over the Reubenite and the Gadite and the half of the tribe of the Manassites, for every word of God and word of the king.
