¹And for the children of Aaron, their divisions: the children of Aaron were Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

²And Nadab and Abihu died before the face of their father, and they had no children; so Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests.

³And David, with Zadok of the children of Eleazar and Ahimelech of the children of Ithamar, divided them by their mustering for their service.

⁴And there were found, among the children of Eleazar, many more heads of the men than among the children of Ithamar; and they divided them: for the children of Eleazar sixteen heads of a house of fathers, and for the children of Ithamar eight, by the house of their fathers.

⁵They divided them by lots, these alongside those; for there were officials of the holy place and officials of God from the children of Eleazar and among the children of Ithamar.

⁶And Shemaiah son of Nethanel the scribe, of the Levites, recorded them before the face of the king and the officials and Zadok the priest and Ahimelech son of Abiathar and the heads of the fathers of the priests and of the Levites: one house of a father taken for Eleazar, and one taken for Ithamar.

⁷And the first lot went out for Jehoiarib, for Jedaiah the second,

⁸to Harim the third, to Seorim the fourth,

⁹to Malkijah the fifth, to Mijamin the sixth,

¹⁰to Hakkoz the seventh, to Abijah the eighth,

¹¹to Jeshua the ninth, to Shecaniah the tenth,

¹²to Eliashib the eleventh, to Jakim the twelfth,

¹³to Huppah the thirteenth, to Jeshebeab the fourteenth,

¹⁴to Bilgah the fifteenth, to Immer the sixteenth,

¹⁵to Hezir the seventeenth, to Happizzez the eighteenth,

¹⁶to Pethahiah the nineteenth, to Jehezkel the twentieth,

¹⁷to Jakin the twenty-first, to Gamul the twenty-second,

¹⁸to Delaiah the twenty-third, to Maaziah the twenty-fourth.

¹⁹These were their mustering for their service, to go in to the house of Yahweh as prescribed for them, by the hand of Aaron their father, as Yahweh the God of Israel had commanded him.

²⁰And for the children of Levi who remained: for the children of Amram, Shubael; for the children of Shubael, Jehdeiah.

²¹For Rehabiah: of the children of Rehabiah, Isshiah was the head.

²²Of the Izharites, Shelomoth; of the children of Shelomoth, Jahath.

²³And the children of Jeriah: Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, Jekameam the fourth.

²⁴The children of Uzziel: Micah; for the children of Micah, Shamir.

²⁵The brother of Micah was Isshiah; for the children of Isshiah, Zechariah.

²⁶The children of Merari: Mahli and Mushi; the children of Jaaziah: Beno.

²⁷The children of Merari: of Jaaziah, Beno, and Shoham and Zaccur and Ibri.

²⁸Of Mahli: Eleazar, and he had no children.

²⁹Of Kish: the children of Kish, Jerahmeel.

³⁰And the children of Mushi: Mahli and Eder and Jerimoth. These were the children of the Levites by the house of their fathers.

³¹And they, too, cast lots, just as their brothers the children of Aaron, before the face of David the king and Zadok and Ahimelech and the heads of the fathers of the priests and of the Levites — the head of the fathers, just as his younger brother.
