And Huram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, along with cedar timbers, and artisans of the wall and artisans of wood, to build him a house.
And David knew that Yahweh had established him as king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted high for the sake of his people Israel.
And David took more wives in Jerusalem, and David fathered more sons and daughters.
And these are the names of those who were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon.
and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpelet,
and Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphelet.
And the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, and all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard, and went out to face them.
And the Philistines had come and raided in the vale of Rephaim.
And David inquired of God, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you give them into my hand?” And Yahweh said to him, “Go up, and I will give them into your hand.”
And they went up to Baal-perazim, and there David struck them down; and David said, “God has burst through my enemies by my hand, like the bursting forth of waters.” Therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim.
And they abandoned their gods there; and David gave the order, and they were burned with fire.
And the Philistines again raided in the vale.
And David inquired again of God, and God said to him, “You shall not go up after them; turn away from them and come at them from in front of the weeping trees.”
And when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the weeping trees, then you shall go out to battle, for God has gone out before you to strike down the camp of the Philistines.
And David did as God had commanded him, and they struck down the camp of the Philistines from Gibeon to Gezer.
And the name of David went out through all the lands, and Yahweh put the fear of him upon all the nations.
